MORSAL & ZAIN – ASIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT MERIDIAN GRAND, LONDON
When I first met Morsal and Zain I had the feeling that their wedding day was going to be simply unforgettable. And I wasn’t wrong. This beautiful couple finally became Mr and Mrs Khan on March 25th, and invited their loved ones to share their happiness in an spectacular celebration at Meridian Grand, in London. The day started at Zain’s home, where he greeted me with a big smile at my arrival. There wasn’t a single cloud in the sky – big deal, this is March in London! – the sun was shining as if it was blessing the union.
As an Asian wedding photographer, one of the things I appreciate most is the attention to detail in these weddings. The groom’s traditional Asian outfit was so elegant and I also loved his personalized cufflinks. Before shooting him putting his suit on, I photographed his details. I used a beautiful bedside lamp in the bedroom for the wedding rings photos, you gotta get creative! Zain’s family waited for him downstairs for the final touches and Pakistani wedding traditions, and with the beat of the drum and the best man’s dance moves, the groom left his family home and was on his way to the venue.
Meridian Grand was the luxury wedding venue of their choice. Zain met his stunning Afghan bride at the entrance, and as the sun was setting, we took the chance to get some beautiful couple photos before we continued inside.
Morsal looked absolutely flawless, like out of the cover of an Asian bride magazine, thanks as well to the gorgeous make up and hair by the team at Sonia Zarine Makeup Artist and her mehndi artist Ikrahs Mehndi.
We went up to the bridal suite, where we had a few more quiet moments for a couple photo shoot. It was beautiful to capture the laughs, the connection and the sparks between these two. They were great and so relaxed during their shoot, naturals in front of the camera.
The Ballroom looked perfect all white and gold, and that luxury wedding cake made my jaw drop. Morsal and Zain finally joined their guests after the first big entrance.
When they got changed into the second outfit, I caught Morsal in a narrow hall and the reflections around her inspired me. She was so gracious and looked like a dream, we took some of my favorite bridal portraits EVER right there and then. Not only she was an amazing bride and helped make my job so easy, but her elegance, constant smile and sweet personality adds even more to her beauty. I love these photos of her… and of course, let’s not forget her gorgeous Jimmy Choos!
The second part of Morsal and Zain couple shoot, now in the Foyer area, made me feel like I was shooting models for a fashion magazine. We had only a few minutes, but with couples like them, it really wasn’t hard to get some great photos. Lucky photographer 😉
Back in the Ballroom, after cake cutting, the best man had a special dance performance prepared for the new husband and wife. Wasu was a great entertainer and got everyone on their feet as he danced to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of you’ and paid tribute to Michael Jackson, one of the highlights of the night.
Zain’s heartfelt speech and the words he dedicated to his bride were so honest and beautiful. They are a team, both looking after each other, inspiring each other to be the best version of themselves and committed to grow in happiness together. In that exact moment, I remember feeling so grateful that I get to witness and capture in photographs love stories like theirs… and call it my job.
And when I said this wedding had it all, it’s because it did. Artist Zack Knight made a surprise special appearance to sing for the bride and groom’s first dance, and then the party and dancing started!
