KAYLEIGH & KIEREN – WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT DENHAM GROVE HOTEL, LONDON
Kayleigh and Kieren officially became Mr and Mrs Bowles on the 4th of June this summer. They said ‘I do’ at Denham Grove Hotel in Uxbridge, London. Their wedding was a lovely little mix of their personalities, it had a DeLorean and a cake made of cupcakes! It was a dream for any wedding photographer. Keep reading for all the best photos and stories from the day, with a slideshow video at the end.
They met when they were only teenagers, and the years passing by made them realize they were made for each other. It was on Christmas Day, the first one in their new home together, that Kieren finally proposed and gave Kayleigh a ring that fit perfectly around her finger 😉
The big day came and my assistant and dear friend Paula, from Kemba videos, and me met Kayleigh at her hotel room, while she was getting ready with her bridesmaids and mum. I took some details of her beautiful wedding shoes by Jimmy Choo, their wedding rings and more. Kayleigh’s sweet bridal bouquet was created by The Secret Garden, and had a combination of white daisies, miniature roses and gypsophila.
Please, let’s take a moment to appreciate the cuteness of this wedding ring bearer pillow with all Marvel heroes!
Back in the room, Kayleigh started to get dressed with the help of her amazing bridesmaids, and her mum made sure the final touches were perfect too. Kayleigh looked beautiful in her wedding dress, signed by Ellie Sanderson Bridal Boutique, I loved the lace details in the body.
Kieren arrived in style with his two best men, in a cool DeLorean – for people like me, useless at cars, it’s the one from Back to the Future!.
It was easy to see how happy he was, he couldn’t wait to finally see his bride! I took a moment to get some nice portraits of him looking all elegant on his wedding day.
The DeLorean was a huge success and definitely caught everyone’s eye. Special thanks to Brian – My Back to the Future DeLorean, who even had all props from the movie and played the soundtrack on repeat! After the ‘formal’ pictures, we went crazy and played dress-up, I honestly can’t tell you how much fun I had shooting this!
It was time now for the ceremony to start. A string quartet played beautifully to accompany Kayleigh in her entrance, as she walked by the arm of her proud father. What a lovely ceremony. I still can’t help smiling and getting a little teary-eyed behind my camera when I see the emotion and joy in the faces of the bride and groom, and the new Mr and Mrs Bowles were just glowing.
Kayleigh and her bridesmaids were all smiles and they looked so lovely together! Cocktail hour was the perfect moment to get those family photos that will make mum and dad happy.
We even got a confetti shot with a little help from the guests! While everyone enjoyed their drinks and canapés, we borrowed the golf buggy for a few minutes, before returning it to the kids, that were enjoying rides all around! Credits to Royal Rides for the golf buggy.
And then, what is probably my favourite part of the day, as a wedding photographer: the couple photo shoot. Even though we only had a few minutes, we found a beautiful spot hidden in their gardens with some gorgeous flowers, and took many very lovely and romantic photos. Kayleigh and Kieren were absolutely fantastic and so patient, plus it’s crazy how good they look together! An absolute pleasure to work with.
The suite was ready now to welcome everyone to the afternoon tea. When I met Kayleigh for the first time and she told me what she had in mind for the theme, I feel in love with it! It was inspired by literature and movies, Alice in Wonderland ‘s tea party, and Back to the Future. Very playful with a vintage touch, “finding harmony in the mismatch”, as she very well put it. Kayleigh worked really hard to make her vision a reality, she even made the table centerpieces herself using her grandma’s tea cups and saucers. The result was stunning and so original, and I loved that it had a sentimental meaning for her. Gotta love a DIY bride!
Do you remember the cake made of cupcakes I mentioned earlier? Well, this beauty was created by Cakes by Jackie, and was eye candy to photograph 😉
Instead of dinner, Kayleigh and Kieren decided to have an afternoon tea, and it was perfect. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and relaxed before the speeches. It was great to see Tara and Jack there, my first wedding clients and one of my most amazing couples.
The father of the bride broke the ice and was the first one to give a speech, followed by the groom and his two best men, best friends. The speeches were full of funny stories that made everyone laugh and remember old times.
After cake cutting, bride and groom had their first dance to Birdy’s Wings in a magical moment, and then invited everyone to join them on the dance floor. The Jerseys were in charge of the music and entertainment for the rest of the night and did an amazing job. A tribute band to The Jersey Boys musical, they made people dance to classic Motown and rock ‘n’ roll hits, and even performed a cappella and got an extra member at the end of the night!
Dear Kayleigh and Kieren,
What a day that was! Thank you again and again for trusting me to catch and freeze all these moments in time for you. It was a big honour and it makes me so happy to know you love your wedding photos as much as I do.
Thanks to you and your families for treating me so well. You were so fun and easy to work with!
