CEYLAN & AYTAN – TURKISH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY AT GRAND PALACE BANQUETING SUITE, LONDON
Aytan popped the question, and Ceylan said Yes! They celebrated their engagement on the 27th of March in London, surrounded by their families and closest friends in what was my first ever Turkish engagement. And I loved it so much. Keep reading for the best photos from the day and a slideshow video at the end!
The team of excellent Asian and Turkish wedding videographers at IamMediaUK and I met the lovely couple at Broomfield Park, their favourite park in Wood Green, for a little shoot before taking them to greet their guests. Despite the constantly changing and challenging weather – we had some rain, sunshine spells and strong wind – Ceylan and Aytan were an absolute dream to work with. They kindly allowed us the time to create and took our directions and suggestions with a smile. Ceylan looked stunning and as sparkling as her beautiful backless dress, and Aytan couldn’t stop looking at his bride to be.
The warm colours everywhere in the park and the cuddles helped the romantic atmosphere. Aytan was a gentleman and looked after Ceylan at all times during their shoot, making sure she stayed warm in the chilly March wind – you know, spring in London!
When we finished, we made our way to the venue they chose for their reception. Grand Palace Banqueting Suite in Wood Green was decorated in pink and white. The tables were ready and full of delicious Turkish food, and the cake had a cute little ring on top. I also really liked the idea of a Wish Tree where guests could hang their good wishes for the couple in heart shaped tags.
Guests kept arriving and filling the room. Music played and food started to be served. The bride and groom made an entrance with the traditional three rounds, and dancing started right away. Everyone there was so joyous and willing to celebrate the happy engagement, the dance floor was never empty!
Another Turkish wedding tradition, a pillow dance, got everyone involved and on their feet. Aytan and Ceylan exchanged wedding rings and cut their cake as well. Family and friends gave them their blessings and raised their glasses for the happy couple.
DJ Ahmet and his band of musicians were in charge of the music and entertainment. One thing was clear to me, Turkish people love a good party! Everyone had a fantastic time and enjoyed the rest of the night, dancing until their feet hurt.
